DC Metro Map Contest

Greater Greater Washington, a well-known DC area urban planning blog focused on Washington and its denser suburbs, hosted a contest to redesign the iconic DC Metrorail Map. As a big urban transit fan and artist, I submitted my own map for the contest. Check out the post on the GGW site that mentions my map here.

Compost Bins For Everyone!

For those of you who have not read my resume, I am a member of the Newport News Green Foundation. A wonderfully environmentally conscious organization that does all sorts of eco-friendly projects for the city of Newport News, VA.

To raise money for trips and what not this year, we held a compost bin sale in front of Todd Stadium last Saturday. The turnout was more than I expected with a steady stream of people coming until the end. I had no idea so many people in the area were interested in composting.

New Website Design

The newest web design for www.davjones.net is finally online! Improvements include more detailed graphics, easier to follow layout, and better browser compatibility. No longer comprised of sliced images, the site should load much more faster.
